" Last week I attended an event held by LIWP Inc., and it was a wonderful experience for many reasons. To begin with, I learned a lot of valuable tips concerning the "do's and don'ts of co-ed networking." Since I am new to the "networking scene", I was not aware of some of the seemingly innocent mistakes that women can make at networking events. The tips given by the founder of LIWP Inc., a long time networker, will most certainly come in handy as I do more networking in the future. Additionally I learned how important image is to a professional woman, and what simple steps can be done to improve your image, from the long time Beautician Donna DiGiacomo owner of the beautiful Axios Salon, located in Lake Grove NY. LIWP Inc. also educated us about the services being offered to abused women from the Suffolk County Coalition Against Domestic Violence, and the ways in which we can help this meaningful charity. Most importantly, however, it was really nice meeting women who are all looking to grow their businesses. I felt really comfortable with the attendees, and I look forward to furthering my relationships with them."

January 22, 2010 I am new at Networking. I can be shy, but the Women of LIWP made me immediately feel welcome! I enjoyed myself and particularly like the fact that everything LIWP does is tied to a cause. This is in line with my values. I felt an immediate connection and joined the organization on my first night. I am looking forward to being a part of this group!
Susan Lane Hope For Youth
May 15, 2009 I wanted to extend my sincerest appreciation to Long Island Women In Power for choosing Hope For Youth as the charity of choice for last night's monthly networking meeting. The exposure Hope For Youth received was tremendous and our programs and clients will definitely benefit from the luggage that was donated by the women. All of us at Hope For Youth are grateful for your frienship and support. I hope we will have more opportunities to work together in the future. Best, Susan Lane SLane@HFYNY.org Phone: (631) 782-6540
Lorette Pribil New York Life, Melville, NY 516-860-3129 I just attended my first LIWP meeting last week. I found the information presented to be very useful. The “speed-networking” format was wonderful – I met so many other dynamic women in such a short period of time - a very pragmatic approach that I feel was very effective. As a new member, I look forward to many more informative, fun, enlightening, philanthropic gatherings. Debbie Viola Custom Finishes & Murals www.debbieviola.com 516-643-2439 I just joined and attended the February 20th meeting at Cafe Tuscano in Massapequa. Not knowing what to expect, I was pleasantly surprised. The dining tables were in clusters of four, so you had a chance to get to know the people at your table. Then we were asked to switch it up and mingle with others. The president gave an informative talk on the power of networking. Then we all ate great food. While we were eating, Dana gave a very energetic and enthusiastic talk about how important it is for each and every one of us to go "green" as much as we can in our household. She even went so far as to bring in some products from her home that she uses which are environmentally safe. I thought she was great.
It was a very informal, friendly set-up. I look forward to seeing how the group evolves and grows, and am happy to be a part of it. I am a decorative artist, specializing in unique finishes, murals and portraits, and I've found that in my business networking is the best way to get your name out there. This promises to be a group where we all showcase our businesses. If it continues to flourish and grow, I will remain very happy that I joined. Tricia 631-553-8616 pas70@aol.com This was a great networking opportunity to meet new people, make friends, and share business ideas and information. The atmosphere was very friendly and informative especially with the talks geared towards networking and stress relieving. It was all about helping one another. I really enjoyed Tuesday's meeting and had a chance to network with many interesting professional women. I had a great time getting to know as many as I could and I look forward to attending future LIWP events. Terrific job Christina and Crissy! -------------------------------------- Grace Hackett Mary Kay Cosmetics (516) 579-5170/225-4630 www.marykay.com/GraceEHackett1 I had a wonderful time at the April 9 event at Viva Loco. I've been involved in many networking situations in the past but networking with women is different. There's a sense of caring and truly wanting to help one another. The education was great and the presentation by Bea from Mona Vie was very informative (and tasty!). It was also empowering to see how many women are out there trying to make a difference in the lives of their families and of others. I look forward to the next event. Gloria Brady Advertising Copywriter I've been attending a lot of networking events recently, but the LIWP gatherings are simply the best. You're really given the time to meet all the attendees and learn about their businesses. It's inviting, interesting and fun. Kudos to Crissy and Christina! -------------------------------------- Nadia J. Solomon, DC
LIWP has helped me meet so many new and amazing women. In two meetings I have made new friends and done business with a few women. Christina G. was very kind when I needed advice. She was available, thoughtful and introduced me to the people who could help me. I couldn't ask for more in a networking group. --------------------------------------
Michele Renee President Home Designs by Michele Renee 516-946-5141 www.homedesignsbymichelerenee.com I had a great time at the networking meeting last night. I think it's a fabulous idea and am thrilled to be a part of it in any way that I can. I have been passing the word and hope to get other women involved soon. I will also be doing lots of follow up on some of the topics we spoke about as well as keeping in contact with the other ladies. --------------------------------------
Corinne Zarou Associate Broker Charles Rutenberg Realty Inc. www.corinnezarou.com czaro@optonline.net 516-835-5704 I came to a LIWP gathering as a guest and immediately joined. I sensed a positive environment. For one who does not join "groups" this is big. Everyone was pleasant and friendly. This is an exciting time for all of us to highlight our businesses, exchange thoughts and ideas and refer each other out to others. Thanks Christina and Crissy for a great organization and special thanks for your warm welcoming. Power to the Women !! -------------------------------------- Once again, I am so happy to be part of this great networking organization. I can't say enough nice things about the two women who run it. Christina is such a dynamic, energetic woman who clearly is on a mission of helping women in business become successful. I found that the women at the meeting all seem to be like-minded in that they are trying to succeed in their endeavors, and keep others they come in contact with on their minds for potential business endeavors.
Thank you, and keep up the great work!!
And remember, if you see a boring wall, give me a call!!
